On 14 December 2000, the Governing Council of the European Central Bank (ECB) has decided that, from 2002 until further notice, the Trans-European Automated Real-time Gross settlement Express Transfer (TARGET) system will be closed, in addition to Saturdays and Sundays, on the following days:
  • New Year's Day
  • Good Friday (Catholic/Protestant)
  • Easter Monday (Catholic/Protestant)
  • 1 May (Labour Day)
  • Christmas Day
  • 26 December

Steering Committee

As further detailed in Article 8 of the EONIA SWAP INDEX® Code of Conduct, the EONIA SWAP INDEX® Steering Committee consists of 11 members.
The Chief Executive of the European Banking Federation is a permanent member of the Steering Committee while the other members have a mandate of 2 years (renewable).
Members of the Steering Committee must be experienced market practitioners, i.e. people who are directly involved in euro repo market operations or who bear direct responsibility in their bank for it.
Members of the Steering Committee must be experienced market practitioners, i.e. people who are directly involved in the EONIA SWAP® market operations or who bear direct responsibility in their bank for it.
Members of the Steering Committee must be independent and not subject to instructions from the companies or organisation to which they belong. The Steering Committee currently consists of the following persons (end of mandate: June 2011):

The Steering Committee meets at least once per year in Brussels. Yet, ad hoc meetings can be organized whenever necessary.
Members of the Steering Committee can only attend the meetings ad personam and therefore cannot send any representative.
